Busy schedule for senior and junior local clubs this week-end

THERE is a busy fixture list for the coming days with the newly formed Celtic Cup getting a first Irish airing in Irish Independent Park in Cork on Friday night one of the stand-out games.
Munster take on Connacht in that one and kick-off is 5.30pm. The new competition, which is expected to continue for six weeks, plus a final, is to be welcomed and will give players in the Munster squad a chance of decent match time. The reds will play Connacht, Dragons and Scarlets in Cork and travel to play the Ospreys, Cardiff Blues and Leinster. The final will be played in mid-October.
The Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Cup gets underway on Saturday with Old Crescent, Thomond, Bruff and UL Bohemian all in action while the newly-formed Munster Junior League Cup qualifiers, involving seven Limerick clubs, is also kicking-off. McInerney Cup ties take place on Saturday and the Transfield Cup games between Newcastle West and St Mary’s and St Senan’s and Abbeyfeale will be played on Sunday.
Kick off 2.30pm unless otherwise stated.
