Charity Cup final place for Garryowen but Crescent also impress

Limerick Charity Cup semi-final:
Garryowen 33, Old Crescent 19
A DECENT attendance in Dooradoyle tonight enjoyed a perfect night for rugby with both sides serving up an entertaining 80 minutes. Garryowen deserved their win but Crescent sparkled for the second time in six days, bringing their tally for their last two games to 11 tries.
A third try for Garryowen in first half injury time proved crucial and they led 21-14 at the short whistle. Two second half tries sealed the victory but Old Crescent finished in style, scoring a brilliantly taken third try right on the stroke of time.
Garryowen had tries from Aaron McCloskey, Neil Cronin, Liam Barrett, and Diarmuid McCarthy and a penalty try while Crescent’s tries came from Larry Hanley, Shane Mullally and Cathal Monaghan with Ronan McKenna kicking two conversions. Neil Cronin kicked three conversions for the light blues.
