Garryowen thirds are awarded the Webb Cup

GARRYOWEN FC thirds have something to celebrate as the junior rugby season comes to a conclusion for season 2016/17.
Although they claim they did not lodge an objection, the light blues have been awarded the Webb Cup despite losing the final to Old Crescent. It is understood that the Branch made the decision on the basis of an illegal player.
It has been a great season for Garryowen’s thirds, winning the Gleeson League, Munster J2 champions and now Webb Cup winners.
A statement from Old Crescent RFC states: “A most unfortunate outcome for Old Crescent and deeply disappointing for our Thirds players who played so well to win the Webb Cup final and who were innocent parties in relation to our administrative errors.”
