Lacey to blow first whistle of the 2018/19 Guinness PRO14 season

THIS weekend sees the opening round of fixtures in the Guinness Pro14 and the Women’s Interpros.
John Lacey is the first referee on the whistle in the Pro14 this season, as he takes officiates the Ospreys versus Edinburgh in Swansea on Friday evening, Sean Gallagher will be of the assistant referees.
The first fixture of this season’s Women’s Interpros also get underway on Friday, with Leinster hosting Ulster in Stradbrook, with Enda O’Shea officiating.
On Saturday, George Clancy takes charge of The Dragons versus Benetton Treviso, with Frank Murphy as assistant referee.
Mark Patton is one of the assistant referees in Thomond Park when Munster welcome the Cheetahs, with Simon McDowell as TMO, and John Carvill is in Kingspan Stadium on the touchline when Ulster take on Scarlets. Leo Colgan is TMO in Belfast. Eddie Hogan-O’Connell is one of the assistant referees and Olly Hodges will be TMO in Galway for Connacht’s game against Cardiff Blues.
Glenn Sheridan referees the second Women’s Interpro game of the weekend in Irish Independent Park, where Munster take on Connacht.
