AT Dooradoyle yesterday a slick UL Bohemian side coasted into the final of the Munster Junior Cup with a performance of high quality.
Now they await the outcome of the Garryowen v UCC semi-final before they know their opponents in their second junior decider in three seasons.
The Limerick side led 7-3 after a tense and keenly fought opening half but once they increased their lead to give themselve a two-score advantage, they were always in control.
Bohs have not won the junior cup since 1932 and there is a hunger, particularly within their older members, to bridge that gap. On the basis of this performance, there will be optimism in Annacotty and with experienced senior players like Fergal Lawlor, Anthony and Ryan Hartigan, Richie Freeney and Kevin Bracken in their side they will give either the College boys or the Dooradoyle side a close run in the decider.
UL Bohs scores came from from a penalty try and touchdowns by Finbarr Aherne and Dave Moloney.
Fergal Lawlor chipped in with three conversions while Mark Lawlor capped a fine individual performance with a drop goal from inside his own half that Ronan O'Gara would be proud of.
The Junior Cup final will be played on Easter Monday.
