Munster A take B & I Cup title in Cork thriller

British and Irish Cup final:
Munster 29, Jersey Reds 28
THE score tells the tale of this thriller in Irish Independent Park in Cork tonight with Munster A making a dramatic comeback to win by the narrowest of margins.
The home side scored four tries, Gavin Coombes, Kevin O’Byrne, David Johnston and Alex Wooten getting over the whitewash with Dave Johnston kicking three conversions and a penalty to snatch the their first win in this competition since 2012.
The Jersey side started impressively and led by 18-0 in the early stages and at the end of the first quarter their were worrying signs for the home side as they struggled to match the power of the opposition at the scrums.
Tries by Joe Buckle and Nick Scott and Hardy, three penalties and two conversions from Callum Sheedy accounted for the visitors’ scores but some magic from Johnston and Wooten opened up the Reds defence to get the crucial winning scores.
It was a great night for the Munster fans, many of whom will be heading to Dublin in the morning for what they hope will be a memorable week-end for the province.
