Munster players shine as Lions find their form

Conor Murray (Cormac Byrne)

Crusaders 3, Lions 12:
A WELL deserved win for the British and Irish Lions today in Christchurch. They set the tone of the game from the start with Owen Farrell kicking two penalties and showing great intensity throughout the field this was an impressive showing by the tourists.
Richie Mo’unga kicked a penalty to reduce the lead to 6-3 but a third Farrell penalty left the Lions leading 9-3 at the break. Crusaders failed to put any decent attacks together during the second period and a fourth Owen Farrell penalty sealed a welcome victory for Warren Gatland’s side.
From an Irish point of view, there were outstanding performances from Conor Murray who dictated the play throughout, Peter O’Mahony and Tadhg Furlong while Jonathan Sexton, who came on in the centre for Jonathan Davis late in the opening half, had one of his best outings of recent weeks.
