Schools defeats for Crescent and Ard Scoil

TWO Limerick schools tasted defeat at the hands of Cork sides today in the Avonmore SuperMilk Munster Schools Senior Cup with CBC beating Ard Scoil Ris and Crescent College Comprehensive putting up a brave battle before losing to PBC.

e defeated Rockwell in the Avonmore Supermilk Munster Schools Junior Cup.

CBC 22, Ard Scoil Ris 0.

Played at Temple Hill, Tom Moorhead got an early try for CBC and it was 10-0 at the break when winger Adam Finn scored in the corner.

Tomas Quinlan got the Cork schools' third try while Finn second try near the finish was converted by O’Riordan.

THIS was a thrilling encounter with the sealing score for the Cork side coming late in the game. Crescent put up a brave performance and could yet be a threat in this competition.

PBC now await the losers of the Glenstal Abbey and holders Rockwell College game next week.

Scorers for PBC in today's game at Musgrave Park were tries by Rory Fenton and Seamus Glynn and two penalties and two conversions from Steven Dinan and a drop goal by Fenton.

Gearoid Lyons dropped a goal for Crescent while Nigel Kerr scored their try leave it 10-8 at half time in favour of Pres’.

Crescent travel to Cork for a quarter final meeting with Christian Brothers College in two weeks time.
