Rugby mourns the death of Dermot Sheridan

THE tragic death of former Shannon and Monkstown player Dermot Sheridan in a helicopter accident in Kildare has shocked rugby fans in the Limerick region.

Dermot played in the centre with the Coonagh club and went on to become a very promiment squad member with Dublin club Monkstown.

He also played GAA with his local Parteen St Nicholas club.

Sympathy is extended to his mother Carmel, sister Catherine and extended family.

All Parteen GAA activities have been cancelled as a mark of respect and a large representation from Monkstown RFC have arrived in Limerick to attend the funeral this Saturday between 4 and 7pm.

Mass will be celebrated for Dermot at 1pm on Sunday.
