St Munchin’s win inaugural Herbert/Conneally Cup final

(St Munchin’s fans at tonight’s final)
St Munchin’s College 18, Crescent Compresensive 15
ON perfect night for rugby and played on the excellent surface of the Markets Field Stadium tonight, St Munchin’s College had a narrow victory over Crescent Comp in the inaugural final of a new schools competition in memory of Dudley Herbert and Sean Conneally.
It was a typical senior schools game, played before an attendance of couple of hundred, and while it was close at the finish, the Corbally school just about deserved their victory.
The event will benefit deserving charities the Simon Community and the Peter McVerry Trust who do so much good and necessary work within Limerick
The annual competition will continue to mark the contributions of the late Dudley Herbert and Sean Conneally, both games masters at their respective schools.
