Winning start for Richmond RFC in the local McInerney Cup

By the Editor
McInerney Cup:
Richmond 19, UL Bohemian 7: Played last night at the Canal Bank, Richmond got their competitive season off to a winning start with a hard-earned victory over Bohs thirds. Jonathon O’Hanlon’s brace of tries proved to be the deciding factor between the sides. Dean O’Neill got the other try for the Dublin Road outfit while Brian O’Neill converted two of the three conversion attempts.
UL Bohemian put up a good show but John Stapleton’s try and conversion were not enough to keep them in this competition.
The other game in the McInerney Cup down for decision did not take place. Thomond pulled out of the tie but are hoping to field a team for the Gleeson League.
