All to play for as Munster Junior League division one hots up
- Updated: 10/01/2019

THIS coming week-end sees the Munster Junior League race hot up with some very interesting pairings. Top of the table Clonmel travel to play Kanturk and this one will be closely watched by Richmond fans as they also have a tough away game, taking on Kilfeacle and District on their own patch. After eight games, Clonmel are leaders with a six point cushion over chasing side Richmond.
Newcastle West are third, one point behind Richmond and they will be looking for a winning bonus point when they host Waterpark at the NCW venue. Abbeyfeale are sixth in the table at present with 18 points and level with their opponents on Sunday, Skibbereen. Neither of these sides look like troubling the top five at present but they will want to ensure their status.
The big game in the city sees St Mary’s (pictured) take on Bandon in Grove Island. The ‘Saints’ have been plagued with injuries and the unavailablilty of key players so far this season and they badly need a win. This promises to be an exciting encounter with Bandon, in joint fourth place in the table with Kilfeacle and District, striving for a late charge.
St Mary’s cannot afford another defeat. They are rooted at the bottom of the table, four points below Kanturk and five behind Galbally, so this week-end’s results are crucial for the city side. Galbally play Clanwilliam at home and if they can win this one they could be on their way to safety.
