Death of Shannon RFC’s oldest living member

THE death has taken place of Stephen Fitzgerald, who, according to the club, was the oldest living member of Shannon RFC.
Stephen was a past player and a past club president and will be sadly missed family and a large circle of friends.
Here are the funeral arrangements:
Stephen Fitzgerald, late of Danesfort, Corbally, Limerick passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and in the loving care of the staff at Athlunkard House nursing home on Sunday August 24th 2014. Beloved husband of the late Teresa R.I.P and father of (daughters) Terri, Charlotte Cluskey (Dingle), Marianne Cooke (U.K) (sons) Jack (Coosheen, Kilkee), Dessie (U.K), Gerard, Brian (U.K) and Kieran (Dublin). Deeply regretted by sister- in-law, sons-in-law, daughters- in-law, nieces, nephews, 21 grand-children, 19 great-grandchildren, cousins, extended family and a large circle of friends.
Reposing at Thompsons funeral home, Thomas Street, Tuesday evening 26th August 6-8pm, with removal afterwards, to St Marys church, Athlunkard Street. Funeral Mass on Wednesday 27th 12.00 noon in St Mary’s Church with burial afterwards to Mount Saint Lawrence Cemetery. Family Flowers only.
