Eddie linked with Munster backs coach job

IT looks as if former Ireland head coach Eddie O’Sullivan could be on his way to Munster Rugby. He has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Simon Mannix and could join Anthony Foley in a new look senior coaching set-up in July. O’Sullivan had a short spell with Garryowen FC in their failed bid to remain in AIL division one A this season and it is no secret that he has been on the look-out for a high profile coaching job over the past year or so. The appointment would make sense from a financial point of view. No figures have been made public but there is no doubt that the Penney/Mannix combination would have taken a large bite out of the revenue available over the past two seasons.

An all-Irish coaching partnership with Niall O’Donovan also in situ as team manager has a nice local ring to it.
