Flatley ‘reeling’ over Munster win

MAYBE it is the fancy steps of Casey Laulala, the dancing feet of Simon Zebo or the graceful lineout leaps of Paul O’Connell, but world famous ‘hoofer’ Michael Flatley remains a dedicated fan of Munster rugby.
The 56-year-old Lord of the Dance could not resist the temptation to jump on the bandwagon when the victorious team left Thomond Park last Saturday an hour after the final whistle.
Chicago-born Michael and his wife Niamh, both bedecked in Munster colours, were spotted by the players as the team bus edged down the slope from the stadium reception area and the invitation to ‘get on board’ was warmly accepted.
There to capture the moment was local photographer Joe Buckley: “It was entirely spontaneous,” he told us. “Michael went down the bus shaking the players’ hands and offering his congratulations on their magnificent performance. It was a lovely moment. He appears to be a big Munster fan.”
A former amateur boxer and holder of the world dancing record with 35 taps per second, ‘Flats’ may be the man to provide the formula to open up the Toulon defence in three weeks’ time!
