Garryowen keen to avoid their third successive cup defeat

BEATEN in the finals of the Limerick Charity Cup and the Munster Senior Cup within a short few days, Garryowen will be hoping for better fortune this Saturday when they entertain Lansdowne in the semi-final of the Bateman Cup in Dooradoyle. Referee is Robert O’Sullivan.
The winners will meet either Armagh or Buccaneers who play on the same day. Referee Glenn Sheridan is in Kildare where M.U Barnhall face Wanderers in Division 2B.
A number of local referees will be on duty over the week-end. On the European front, John Lacey referees Clermont against the Northampton Saints in the European Rugby Challenge Cup, with Frank Murphy and Jonny Erskine as assistant referees and Brian MacNeice as TMO.
On Sunday, George Clancy is in Sandy Park alongside his assistant referees Sean Gallagher and Mark Patton where Exeter face Castres in the Heineken Champions Cup. Olly Hodges is TMO.
Andrew Brace is also in on the whistle in Europe and officiates Lyon versus Saracens, with Joy Neville and Nigel Correll as ARs and Simon McDowell as TMO.
