Improved Munster get welcome victory

By the Editor

Munster 21, London Irish 15:
NEW Zealander Francis Saili will probably remember his first start in the famous red jersey of Munster for some time. The centre scored a well-taken try to set off what promised to be a memorable evening, but was then stretchered off after suffering an injury, later reports revealing that the player had suspected concussion.
The experiment of playing Andrew Conway (pictured) at full-back proved to be a successful one, the Dubliner scoring tries on each side of half time. Two conversions by former Rockwell star Bill Johnston and one from Ian Keatley made up the Munster points tally and a lead of 21-3 going into the final quarter.
London Irish eventually found their feet and finished strongly with Christian Lewis-Pratt and Alex Lewington credited with five pointers, one converted by Brendan McKibben.
Next up for Munster is their opening Guinness Pro12 encounter next Saturday (7.45) against Benetton Treviso, with Irish Independent Park again providing the venue.
