IRFU expected to sanction the signing of two new ‘Munsterboks’

TREVOR Halstead will probably be remembered as the most impressive centre to play with Munster. Jean de Villiers did not make the same impression and now it has been announced that the arrival of two more South Africans has been sanctioned by the IRFU. World Cup winner Damian de Allend (pictured) and forward RG Snyman are the names mentioned in reports over the past 24 hours. Both are expected to arrive in Limerick next year.

The 28-year-old de Allende made his first team debut for Western Province during the 2012 Vodacom Cup, in their game against Pampas XV. He made a total of three appearances in that campaign, scoring one try. He was then also included in the squad for the 2012 Currie Cup Premier Division. In 2013, he signed a contract that will see him remain at Western Province and the Stormers until 2015. In 2014, Damian suffered a medial knee ligament injury and had to withdraw from the squad. He was once again selected in the Springboks’ next squad for the 2014 Rugby Championship and was named in the starting line-up for their opening match of this competition against Argentina in Pretoria.

Both Damian de Allende and RG Snyman have reportedly both agreed terms with Munster..
