NO surprises on the Ireland team to play Argentina tomorrow in the final game of the 2017 Guinness Series. Chris Farrell, Conor Murray, Peter O’Mahony and CJ Stander carry the Munster standard with Dave Kilcoyne, John Ryan, Ian Keatley and Andrew Conway all named on the bench.
The more you look at the squad, the more baffled you become regarding the omission of Simon Zebo from the squad. It is hard to believe that a player with such natural talent, and at the height of his form, should be penalised for making a move that could enhance his performances rather than stifle his flair.
The mind boggles.
Playing before a capacity home crowd Ireland should be good enough to make it three wins out of three in this season’s November tests. They sparkled against South Africa, sneaked home against Fiji but the side named for this game against the Pumas, and a strong bench, should be good enough to keep Joe Schmidt smiling into Christmas.
