Keith Matthews new coach at St Mary’s RFC

AFTER one of their most successful seasons for decades in junior rugby, St Mary’s RFC have been hit with a double blow with two of their most prominent players moving up into AIL action next season.
On their way out of Grove Island are former Shannon out-half Ben Sargeant as well as Greg Barry. Both are expected to appear in the darker blue of Thomond RFC. The Saints could also lose the services of their full-back Conor Kinnane who has been linked with Shannon.
With their director of rugby Chris de Loose also leaving the club (he is joining Young Munster as backs coach), these are changing times for St Mary’s.
On a more positive note, former UL Bohemian backs player Keith Matthews joins the Saints as head coach who will have Gordon Ryan as their forwards coach
