‘Saints’ lose, wins for Richmond, Thomond, Abbeyfeale

BIG shock of the day was the home defeat for St Mary’s by Thurles, 21-24 while Thomond had another good victory. The Soda Cakes ran out winners over Mallow 29-10 thanks to tries by Joshua Dillon, Dean O’Brien, Aidan Quinlivan and Tommy Hourigan, his first try for the club. Jason Kiely was at his reliable best from the kicking tee.

Richmond 21, Kanturk 17: The Canal Bank boys had to dig deep to record this victory. Their tries came from Nigel Clancy, Ross Walsh and Lee Bennett with Brian Mullins and Jack Cross kicking the conversions.

Abbeyfeale recorded an encouraging win when they beat Castleisland 24-17, their tries coming from Jamie Sullivan two, Jack Sullivan and Jamie Quirke. Sunday’s Well had a big victory against Newcastle West 36-7. The two tries for NCW came from Sean Murphy and James Guinea. Galbally-Mitchelstown scored an encouraging win when they beat Scariff20-17 and Ardscoil Old Boys lost to Carrick-on-Suir 14-29.
