St Mary’s will face difficult challenge in MJL division two

ST Mary’s RFC squad will be introduced to their new assistant coach Geoff Kenny tonight as their preparations continue for the start of the new season. Relegated from division one of the MJL at the end of the last campaign, they now face a major challenge and will kick off their return to division two with a home fixture against Tralee on Sunday, September 29.
This will be followed by an away game against Fethard and District on October 6; a home tie at Grove Island on October 13 when Dungarvan visit and on November 3 the Saints will travel to Kinsale.
Thomond, back in junior football for the first time in 20 years, will begin their MJL 1 season with an away game against Kilfeacle and District on September 29 followed by a mouth-watering Limerick derby game against Richmond in Liam Fitzgerald Park on October 6.
The following Sunday, October 13, the royal blues have a second home fixture, against Waterpark and on November 3 they will travel to play Bandon.
While St Mary’s are Limerick’s only representatives in MJL division two, we have five clubs in division one: Thomond, Richmond, Newcastle West, Abbeyfeale and Galbally. It promises to be a busy 2019/20 season.
