Munster should be aware of the hungry Dragons
- Updated: 22/01/2026
MUNSTER will be eager to make a special effort to record a victory tomorrow when they trot out in Virgin Media Park, Cork after a few defeats in succession. They will be without a few of their better known starters but with Gavin Coombes, Paddy Patterson, Tony Butler, Diarmuid Kilgallen on the bench, they will have good protection. It is a game where victory is imperative and with a back five selection of Haley, Abrahams. Kelly, Nankivell and Daly, we can be sure of some fine running rugby throoughout the 80 minutes.
Dragons RFC Head Coach Filo Tiatia said: “We know Munster will be tough at home. We are under no illusion about the task in hand.
“I know Clayton (McMillan) pretty well and know his coaching ethos.
“They will be hurting after recent results. They have a proud tradition and legacy that they have created, particularly when I was playing, and are a leading team.
“They have been playing well. They’ve lost a few games and I know that this game will be important to them.
“Our players are excited about how we keep challenging each other. We are looking forward to it.”
