Six thrilling clashes in round 6 Nations early stages?

By Frank Quinn
A REPORT from the Organisation Six Nations Championship 2026 says that the early rounds will provide six thrilling clashes in round three.
But the scores do not reflect the “thrilling clashes”., In the first 3 rounds we have had : 47/17,20/36, 8/73. 43/0, 57/10, 42/15 and more 40/21, 42/15, very open games with some countries struggling from game to game
it is not all sunshine in the summer season where the countries are in different stages – some having just completed the outgoing season – others getting ready for new season
It is going to be difficult to judge until completed in November , by judge – we should mean the standard of rugby, the attendances, the development of the lower tier teams in readiness for the RWC 2027. We are scheduled to add four more teams to the qualifiers to bring it to 24 teams – more games for the RWC , but of what quality. We have seen in the last few weeks that there is no change in the pecking order, New Zealand, South Africa, France, England, Ireland, Scotland etc. so a few new faces are needed.
The obvious question is this all about attendances, cash, sponsorship – is the proposed new sponsor on board. Where is the player welfare in all of this, or is it all covered by a big bonus for playing in the nations championship during the break. Where is Rugby laws, injuries, general welfare of the game in this. The Leinster pre season training starts shortly – where do the Irish squad members stand in all of this schedule.
