A dark day for Limerick clubs in All-Ireland League

OUR six local clubs in the Energia All-Ireland Leagues drew a blank today with four of them conceding 40 points to their opponents. In 1A Young Munster were pipped at the post by  Ballynahinch in Tom Clifford Park. It was 10-14 at the break with the home side scoring tries by Tony Butler and Stephen McLoughlin but a late score saw the visitors snatch the win, 25-26.
Garryowen put up a mighty battle away to St Mary’s College but they just missed out near the finish 25-22. Scorers for the light blues were Jack Daly, Kevin Langan and Gordon Wood, the points kicked by Dylan Hicks,
Shannon lost to UCC 42-7; UL Bohemians lost to Clogher Valley 44-12, Bruff were beaten away by Ballyclare 66-0 and Old Crescent lost 43-21 away.
