SIX Nations comes to an end this Saturday but Scotland blew Plan A, You have seen the results, now its Super Saturday. ‘Everybody’ has to win to stay in the hunt! Scotland has emerged as the giant killer, and we are next on their menu – and they have managed to get everyone in trouble. France are in the lead with three contenders for the throne , England coach has to go , Wales “on the up” but at bottom of this 6N table and Italy thinks its Xmas. They could /should have beaten us. Beating England and Scotland was like winning the RWC, They are really motivated, they love the pressure, fantastic to see them.
I backed Scotland at 7/2 against France and Italy were a miserable 2/1 over England – Just a guess really for small bets but very interesting to do it. Add in Ireland at 5/1 and Scotland earlier at 15/8 . Doing better than horses, (The next games will be interesting for bets on Super Saturday).
What do you we for next week with Scotland here. Your very best team and replacements on the park, don’t mention the RWC anywhere, Just stick with the 6N against a strong winning Scottish squad and there is a huge financial gain to be gained. The permutations are there, all based on winning on ‘Super Saturday’ and everybody cannot win. The head to head is really Ireland v Scotland – we assume France to beat a very poor England team ( Coachless ) Brutally then we are playing for a pleasant 2nd place from a dreadful start against France. Last in the group Wales take on Italy in Cardiff – having won two games – Italy beating Scotland and England, they move on to create their own records.
Any thoughts – England were planning a grand slam weekend against France for this week end- hard luck. We know the England feeling, (Monday papers will kill the Coach) (FYI they were 1/7 to beat Ireland – Paddy Power big mistake),
Three teams – one winner no seconds or thirds here. France are on top, they stay there, if they beat England with a bonus point, they win the 6N Championship for 2026, That’s it! The Glory! . For the rest of us, we pick up the crumbs. There is a Triple Crown consolation there somewhere in the mix to be distributed between Ireland or Scotland .
Move on to finish off the season with local competitions and I will give an update on the Investec Cup and the URC championship for our four clubs in the near future.
