Garryowen FC make a winning start to the season

THE Light Blues club made a winning start to their season by lifting the Transfield Cup in Dooradoyle yesterday. It was their first time to win the historic local trophy since 2005 and they did so with a hard fought 29-22 win over a gallant St Mary’s team who battled hard over the 80 minutes.
Garryowen scores came from tries from Josh Boland (2), Sam Jordan and Sean Rennisson and a penalty and 3 converts by Marcus Joyce
