Round ten of Energia All-Ireland League is dramatic

ROUND 10 of the Energia All-Ireland League delivered drama across all five divisions, with late scores, momentum swings and statement wins shaping the table as the season moved into its decisive phase.
In Division 1A, Clontarf showed resilience with a 24-20 away win over Ballynahinch, overturning a narrow half-time deficit through tries from Alex O’Grady, Peter Maher, Fionn Gilbert and Alan Spicer. Conor Kelly’s kicking proved decisive as Ballynahinch were denied late on despite a penalty try and a Ryan Connolly score.
St Mary’s gained revenge over Lansdowne with a hard-earned 13-7 win. Michael McCormack’s second-half try and five points from Mick O’Gara turned the contest after the hosts led 7-3 at the break. Cork Constitution maintained their strong home form, securing a 26-7 bonus-point victory over UCD at Temple Hill, while Young Munster edged a thrilling Munster derby 43-31 against Nenagh Ormond. Terenure built an early lead and held off a Belvedere rally to win 27-19.
In the Women’s Division, Old Belvedere pulled clear in the second half to defeat Ennis 29-12, with Emily Byrne scoring twice. Railway Union were in top form at Crowley Park, racing into a 31-0 half-time lead before finishing with a 36-7 win over Galwegians. Blackrock College ran in twelve tries in a dominant 76-8 victory over Cooke, while holders UL Bohemian stayed perfect with a 36-0 win against Ballincollig. Wicklow strengthened their top-four push with a controlled 38-10 home win over Tullow.
Division 1B saw Instonians recover from last week’s defeat to City of Armagh with a 29-14 win at Shaw’s Bridge. Trinity impressed at College Park, running in seven tries to defeat Queen’s 48-26. Highfield edged a tight contest in Dooradoyle, defeating Garryowen 15-10. Leaders Old Wesley continued their title charge with a composed 27-21 win over Blackrock College, while UCC overturned a half-time deficit to secure a 41-28 bonus-point victory over Naas.
In Division 2A, MU Barnhall made it ten wins on the bounce with a disciplined 18-9 away win over Corinthians. Shannon claimed Limerick derby honours with a strong second-half display to beat Old Crescent 21-10. Greystones defeated Banbridge 29-19, while Wanderers edged Cashel 25-24 in a Merrion Road thriller.
Division 2B produced high drama as Navan snatched a 30-29 win over Sligo with a last-gasp drop goal from Harrison Astley. Galwegians maintained their perfect bonus-point record, overpowering Skerries 52-14. Clogher Valley impressed with a 45-7 win away to Buccaneers, while UL Bohemian defeated Enniscorthy 21-10 and Rainey also claimed an important win defeating Malone 37-20 on the road.
In Division 2C, Belfast Harlequins and Ballyclare shared the spoils in a 24-24 draw. Clonmel got revenge beating Bective Rangers 24-20, Malahide defeated Dolphin 24-15, Monkstown overpowered Midleton 33-5, and leaders Thomond held off Bruff 22-20 in a tense local encounter.
